Accessibility is part of the build.
Northbound aims to make every website usable by as many people as possible, including visitors using keyboards, screen readers, voice control, magnification, and other assistive technologies.
Our target standard
We design and build toward WCAG 2.2 AA where practical for small business websites. This includes semantic HTML, readable contrast, descriptive alt text, keyboard-accessible navigation, visible focus states, and clear form labels.
What we check
- Keyboard navigation for menus, links, buttons, and forms.
- Visible focus indicators for interactive elements.
- Text contrast intended to meet WCAG AA minimums.
- Alt text for meaningful images and decorative treatment where appropriate.
- Semantic headings, landmarks, and ARIA labels where needed.
- Responsive layouts that remain usable on mobile devices.
Known limitations
Some third-party services, embedded widgets, maps, booking tools, analytics tools, or social media embeds may not be fully controlled by Northbound. We still choose and configure third-party tools with accessibility in mind whenever possible.
